So… if there was an award for "the world's worst blog updater," I would definitely be in the runnings for it... okay, so I probably shouldn't be so hard on myself, it is just a blog. But, I do want to be better about updating and posting. For Pete's sake, my last entry was.... February.

This past weekend we went up to Utah to hang out with some of Parley’s family and to meet Par’s sister’s boyfriend. Jess, Par’s sister, and Jake are on the right. His sister, Emily, is in the middle. Love ya Em! =o) We went out to breakfast together, went to Magleby’s Fresh in Orem (I think…). Then, we went for a hike in Rock Canyon (behind the Provo Temple). Then, we hung out with family for the afternoon and evening. It was a lot of fun. I love Par’s family more and more. I’ve had the opportunity to get to know a lot of his cousins and their children, too, and I come to love them more each time I get to see them and spend time with them. I can’t wait for the family reunion on the 4th of July weekend! =o)

Well, on Friday night, we went camping at the Valley of Fire. We went with three other couples from our ward, Chad and Natalie, Nick and Sarah, and Brad and Danielle, and their two little ones, Acadia and Trayson. It was a lot of fun. We had tin foil dinners, roasted marshmellows, and just talked and visited with each other. It was fun to get to know Brad and Danielle and their kids a little bit better. And, not to mention that we had PERFECT weather. Now is the time to go camping in Las Vegas. The weather is actually nice and not unbearably hot.

When we were setting up camp Par had the propane fuel and our camping chairs. He looked like he was ready for 'blast off!'

There were some interesting petroglyphs (markings from Native Americans) on the rocks in the Valley of Fire. You know you're jealous!!! =o)

A picture of part of the Valley of Fire.

The crew that we went camping this weekend. We did a little hike the next morning.

These are just a few of our pictures, we have tons posted on our Picasa album. Here's the link, you should check it out. http://picasaweb.google.com/parleyburnett Well, 'till later!

Par and I and our friends, Lori and Adam, went up to Brianhead this weekend. We went cross-county skiing (a first for me!) and while out skiing we stopped to make a couple of snow angels. Par and I couldn't stop laughing... check out the video to see why!

The Holidays...

A few pics from Christmas vacation in Montana...

Well, it has certainly been too long since we've updated our blog, but better later than never, right? Parley and I celebrated our FIRST Christmas as a married couple in Montana with his family this year. It was so picturesque. We left from Las Vegas on December 21st, and it hardly felt like Christmas at all. It was so fun to have a beautiful white Christmas in the mountains. We really did it ALL while we were in Montana: shopping, sledding, games with the family, skiing, sang and enjoyed music, played racquetball, built snow forts, and even hockey! I love being a part of a family that is so active and just likes to have fun. It was a great week.

So, we flew out of Idaho Falls to go back to Las Vegas, and we had SOOO much stuff that the only place to put our guitar (Parley's parents gave us a guitar for Christmas... and we are learning... it's fun!) was across our laps in the back seat. Always an adventure... =o)

So, I just have to mention one more thing. I really don't like putting effort into a new recipe that I think is going to be good and having it be a total flop. But who does like that? Well, I was so excited to make a black-eyed pea chowder on New Year's Day, to start a family tradition. My grandma always made a black-eyed pea chowder on New Year's Day when I was growing up. So, I searched endlessly on-line for a really great recipe. (So I thought). Well, I make it... and it turned out more like a watery, tomato-based soup with a few black-eyed peas... yuck! I was so distraught to be sitting down to partake of a fun family tradition that was awful. We ended up laughing about it later. I suppose it comes with newly-married territory... right? =o)

We hope all is well with our friends and family. Love, Par and Linds
