Distance between Mitt Romney and us.... like 30 feet! Read on to find out the details!!! =o)

So, first of all I would like to apologize for not posting anything new for quite some time! I always know that I need to update the blog, but it hasn't been on the top of my list these past couple of weeks. It's kind of like laundry.... a constant nag in the back of my mind. No just kidding, posting on a blog is much more fun. =o)

So, let me tell you about what Par and I did on Saturday. We are primary teachers in our ward. We had a practice run-through of the Primary Program for 2 hours in the morning. Well, after the primary practice, we headed over to the Paseo Verde Library in Henderson, Nevada. MITT ROMNEY was speaking at this little library in Henderson! I'd never heard a Presidential candidate speak before. It was really cool. Henderson didn't necessarily do a good job in booking the venue, though. They had everything set up in a long, narrow reading room, that was about 30 feet wide and 60 feet long. Needless to say, it was pretty crowded. It was cool to watch him walk in; people were eagerly looking from their seats and taking pictures. There was so much anticipation. After making his way in, he spoke for about 20 minutes, presenting his platform and telling us where he stands on issues. After that, he opened up for questions from the audience for a bit.

I think would really like to be able to hear all of the candidates speak like we did Mitt Romney. It would be nice to hear from the candidates about where they stand on certain issues, and then be able to make an informed decision. I think that too many people vote uninformed or for the wrong reasons.

Well, it will be interesting to see what happens in the Primaries. To all of you out there, make sure you vote! 'Till later!

(Sorry, no pictures of Mitt... we forgot our camera...)

A little trip down memory lane...

I know, looking back on pictures from a wedding that was four months ago hardly counts a trip down memory lane =o), but I wanted to post a couple of pictures on here from our wedding day. For those that may not know, Parley and I were married in the Nauvoo Illinois temple on June 23, 2007. That day will go down in history as one of the most incredible and special days of our lives.
(The following was contributed by Parley... thanks Par!)
As time continues, as it does sometimes, we find ourselves reflecting often on the events of the day. Memories are funny things. What gets remembered, what gets forgotten. Do we choose to remember certain things or are memories only a mesure of the impact made on our lives? Only four months have passed since we exchanged vows and it has been interesting to think about what stands out in our memories. Just last night Lins commented that, "It would be fun to go to a pro baseball game together." Apparently Lindsay wasn't too impressed with the Cubs game we attended on our honeymoon. :) I can't say much for myself either because I also last night conceded the fact that I forgot that she was in band in high school. She played the trombone, ... or was it the baritone...? I forget. This is really beside the point though. We do remember the important stuff, though. :)

Camping Trip Number Two!

This past weekend, September 28th and 29th, Par and I went camping at Mount Charleston with Em (Par's sister) and Lori and Adam (friends of Par's from work). This picture is from Saturday morning, and Par and I were getting ready to make breakfast burritos for everyone. Yum! Friday night was a lot of fun. Lori made tin foil dinners, and we huddled close around the campfire (it was SUPER windy and kind of cold) and we talked and had marshmellows and smores. It was nice to be outside and get away from the city for a night.

This was Em and I folding up the tarp the next morning. Meanwhile, we're hard at work, Par's playing photographer! =o) Just kidding Par! Adam is the one on the left in the red sweater.

We also decided to go on a brief morning hike on Saturday at Mount Charleston. It was such a beautiful autumn day, PERFECT for a hike in the mountains.

I was just taking in the fresh mountain air... and practicing a few pilates moves! Just kidding!

These are just a couple of pictures as we were hiking. The fall is such a beautiful time of year!

I (Lindsay) took this picture. Normally, I'm not exactly the best photographer... but I think this one turned out okay! =o)

This is Parley and I at Claim Jumper in Las Vegas. This particualr day turned out to be one of the MOST special days of both of our lives. It was April 14, 2007, and the evening began with a casual walk around Lake Las Vegas after dinner and ended with big smiles, hugs, a few innocent kisses, and an engagement ring! Par was so sweet; he made me a little book of his favorite memories about us and read it to me before he asked me to marry him. It meant so much to me.

This picture DEFINITELY does not do the ring justice! It was absolutely gorgeous... Par did a great job!
